Ennore, also known as Ennur, sits at the northern tip of Chennai along the coast, distinguished by its industrial and ecological significance. It is home to Kamarajar Port (Ennore Port), India's first corporatised port, and the North Chennai Thermal Power Station. The Ennore Creek, a tidal inlet, supports one of the last remaining stretches of mangrove forest in Chennai, making it an important ecological zone. Despite heavy industrialisation, Ennore's fishing community continues to thrive along the coast.
