Kathivakkam
Kathivakkam is a coastal locality in northern Chennai situated along the Bay of Bengal between Ennore and Minjur. The area is dominated by the North Chennai Thermal Power Station (NCTPS), one of Tamil Nadu's major coal-fired power plants, and the Ennore Port (Kamarajar Port). Despite its industrial character, Kathivakkam retains a vibrant fishing community that has inhabited the coastline for generations. The neighbourhood is accessible via the suburban railway and MTC bus routes connecting it to the city centre.
